Why is Concentration Development Important for all kids
CONCENTRATION or FOCUS is very important it helps us accomplish many things and keep content in life.
As kids, it is primary requirement for education. As kids start with 3rd year their understanding of listening and focusing becomes the very need of parents. Kids must then learn to be able to focus on task at hand be it eating, playing, enjoy a book or listen to a story.
Concentration or focusing difficulties is common in kids of all ages. Why we need to develop these in kids in early years, here are few reasons:
Too much Screen time
Kids today have access and too much of exposure screens which include TV, tablets, video games and off course mobile phones. What is increasingly happening is that for the sake of convenience, ease and the fact that they quite enjoy it kids are allowed to watch TV, or play Video games. What is required is to set a limit to it and minimise it.
Few of the TV programs / Apps are educational but these still required to be used for limited time and require parental presence depending on age. Too much of screen time can result in a decreased attention span, underdeveloped or delayed language abilities, critical thinking abilities or creativity skills, and decreased intrinsic motivation for learning.
Nature deficiency
Today more and more time is being spent by kids indoors thus the virtue of “Let kids play outside “is lost. Interaction with nature in early years is very helpful in developing reasoning, emotions, social skills, general awareness and most of all imagination and creativity.
Junk food
Add to this all junk food available that kids just love be it a sugary Juicy Donut or a spiced Pizza. As healthy food is important for growth of body so it is for growth of Mind. In early years giving child a brain rich food can really help them focus and enjoy school
Focusing is an art of mind and body integration .If mastered it helps in maximum returns with minimum efforts
